O governo federal efetivou na quinta-feira, 11, como Presidente do Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN), o historiador e geógrafo Deyvesson Israel Alves Gusmão. O historiador exercia a interinidade desde a saída de Leandro Grass para disputar o governo do Distrito Federal. Gusmão, servidor de carreira do Iphan, era diretor do Departamento de Patrimônio Imaterial da instituição desde 2023. Anteriormente, ele foi Superintendente do órgão no Acre e era cotado para assumir o Iphan desde o início da gestão Lula (estava numa lista de candidatos dos servidores), mas o governo por uma nomeação política – Grass era figura política de destaque do Partido Verde (PV), aliado do governo.
No Iphan, Gusmão se destacou pelo empenho no registro de patrimônios imateriais brasileiros, como o choro, e busca dar ênfase à proteção às manifestações culturais brasileiras. “Quando falamos de patrimônio, falamos de valor e de sentido, daquilo que representam as pessoas e suas histórias”, afirmou ao Correio Braziliense. Com a possível reeleição de Lula, em outubro, ele deve ser mantido na condução do Iphan, órgão de caráter técnico no qual a continuidade das políticas é fundamental para o êxito do trabalho de preservação.
