Fazendo-se acompanhar tocando apenas uma nota que conseguiram “limpar” do piano Fritz Dobbert semidestruído pelos tratores, os manifestantes cantaram uma marchinha de Carnaval que foi composta em uma kombi pelo diretor de teatro Ilo Krugli (1930-2019) em algum momento de alegria do Teatro Ventoforte, sob inspiração de García Lorca. Colocaram então um girassol em cima do piano.

Três dias após a ação de maior brutalidade cultural que São Paulo presenciou em décadas, artistas, produtores, capoeiristas, ciclistas e cidadãos paulistanos foram nesta manhã de domingo, 16, ao Parque do Povo, no Itaim Bibi, junto aos escombros do Teatro Ventoforte, derrubado por máquinas da Prefeitura de São Paulo na quinta-feira, 13, para refletir sobre a barbárie. Não era a multidão que deveria ter ido, eram pouco mais de 80 pessoas, mas, visivelmente emocionados, alguns chorando, muitos se abraçando, os participantes demonstravam um tipo de férrea determinação que há muito não se vê nos atos públicos das metrópoles adormecidas.

“É uma brutalidade tão grande que não há palavras para descrever”.

“Aqui está cheio de encantados”.

“Não é todo dia que cai um teatro no mundo. Mas nós somos os narradores, nós precisaremos contar isso”.

“Os grupos de teatro podiam ocupar isso aqui. Aqui é um palco”.

Abraçado ao seu berimbau, o contramestre Carrapicho, ou Klaison Santana, dirigente do Fórum de Capoeira, que aglutina cerca de 460 grupos de capoeira na cidade de São Paulo, demorou para conseguir falar. “Estou meio emocionado de ficar vendo essa parada aqui”, afirmou Carrapicho. Ele considera o acontecimento uma tragédia. “É uma coisa que já vem acontecendo com a cultura preta, com a capoeira, há muito tempo. A capoeira saiu do código penal mas continua sendo perseguida depois de mais de 70 anos. Estou emocionado, é triste”, ele disse. Carrapicho se referiu à demolição do cazuá da Escola de Capoeira Angola Cruzeiro do Sul, de Mestre Meinha, que funcionava no terreno do Teatro Ventoforte, e que foi também destruído pela prefeitura.

“Espaços como esse aqui, à mercê de situações como essa, tentando sobreviver em bairros como esse aqui…”, ele lamentou. “Espaços tocados por mestres que têm jornada dupla, tripla… O Mestre Meinha é um resistente. É um homem preto, que é uma referência na capoeira angola, na capoeira de rua, na capoeira da cidade de São Paulo. Esse espaço ser perdido é uma tragédia mesmo”.

Alguns dos manifestantes gritaram que a derrubada do Teatro Ventoforte era também um ato explícito de racismo institucional. Muitos artistas que são referência no ativismo afrobrasileiro, como o maranhense Tião Carvalho (cantor, compositor, dançarino, ator e pesquisador) foram ao Parque do Povo. ” A destruição da cultura na maior cidade do País faz parte de um projeto, atende a um propósito: a ascensão do fascismo e a gentrificação dos espaços. Quem merece e quem não merece viver”, escreveu o cantor Chico César, que também esteve nas ruínas.

Alguns presentes tentaram descobrir qual seria a motivação por trás da ação da Prefeitura. “Ouvi que é pra construir prédio”, afirmou um manifestante. Uma nota da Secretaria do Meio Ambiente da Prefeitura informou que o local estava em processo de reintegração de posse, mas é evidente que qualquer estagiário de Direito sabe que a uma ocupação de meio século não se sobrepõe o interesse sazonal de uma administração pública. A região é uma das mais valorizadas no mercado de imóveis da capital paulista, a poucos metros do Shopping JK. “O Ministério da Cultura (MinC) soltou uma nota muito no muro”, disse outro. A nota do MinC, na avaliação do setor artístico, dava a situação como irreversível. “Que a memória do Teatro Ventoforte nos inspire a lutar por um espaço onde todas as vozes possam ser ouvidas e celebradas”, dizia o texto do MinC. Entre os manifestantes, havia uma unanimidade: o local deve manter sua vocação, não tem que ceder um milímetro para a especulação imobiliária. Os presentes concordaram em manter a mobilização para influir no destino e no renascimento do Teatro Ventoforte.

ATUALIZAÇÃO (SEGUNDA, 17, 12h): Um abaixo-assinado de repúdio à demolição do teatro e da escola de capoeira, iniciado essa semana por conselheiros participativos municipais, já conta com 2.175 assinaturas na manhã desta segunda-feira, 17, incluindo 406 entidades da sociedade civil e 87 conselheiros municipais. O documento lembra que foi outorgado ao Teatro Ventoforte, na 649ª Reunião Ordinária do Conselho do Patrimônio Histórico de São Paulo (Conpresp), em 2017, o título de bem de valor cultural de São Paulo. Nas redes sociais, as manifestações crescem e vão da Sociedade Brasileira de Autores Teatrais (Sbat), do diretor Gerald Thomas, que vive em Nova York, e a testemunhos pessoais, como o da atriz Letícia Spiller.
