Quase não há pais (ou responsáveis, como se diz na esfera escolar) em cena, e quando os há, são ineptos ou ausentes.
Em Homem-Aranha: Um Novo Dia, blockbuster que estreou nesta quarta, 29, nos cinemas (em apenas 24 horas de exibição, já compõe o Top 3 de filmes mais vendidos do ano da Ingresso.com, atrás de O Diabo Veste Prada 2 e Michael), há batalhas tecnológicas fabulosas de titãs do mundo dos super-heróis, como Hulk e Justiceiro, mas o recado mesmo é dirigido ao mundo dos adultos. A rigor, só há duas adultas dignas desse nome no enredo, e uma delas está morta (Tia May, interpretada por Marisa Tomei) e a policial DeWolff (Liza Colón-Zayas, em atuação análoga à de Frances McDormand em “Fargo”), que leva os filhos à escola do metrô enquanto combate o crime com um copo de tall latte na mão em NYC. Não por acaso, é DeWolff que aconselha o Homem-Aranha (Tom Holland, enrolado até no scrolling do celular) em sua vida cotidiana. Mesmo o Justiceiro (Jon Bernthal) revela-se um adulto infantilizado, refém de um personagem e piadas datadas.
Além de Tom Holland, o elenco traz o retorno da requisitada Zendaya como MJ e Jacob Batalon como o amigo Ned. A produção também conta com as participações luxuosas de Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk), um “Ao Mestre Com Carinho” de Comic Con, e Michael Mando (Escorpião), além de marcar a estreia de Jon Bernthal como o Justiceiro nos cinemas. Nesse ambiente, o plot se desenvolve justamente em torno das mudanças de fase “hormonais” por que passa o Homem-Aranha, metáfora que chega ao ápice no momento em que ele acorda preso no próprio casulo no processo de se tornar uma outra pessoa (talvez mais forte, talvez mais sábia, quem sabe?). Aí está a questão: a única forma de crescer é renunciar? Não há outro caminho?
Nesse contexto, é natural que a vilã seja uma adolescente grunge, Sadie Sink (de Stranger Things), uma linda criatura em apocalíptica confusão mental buscando dimensionar o peso de seu domínio fácil sobre as mentes das pessoas dos arredores. Claro, isso é uma teia anti-spoiler, porque a personagem, extraída da mitologia dos X-Men, estaria fora de lugar ali se não fosse seu próprio currículo de rebelde sem causa. No meio de tudo, pipocam aqui e ali personagens secundários de outros universos, como os ninjas de O Tentáculo, organização de assassinos que se originou no Japão Feudal e acabou caindo na cola dos personagens Demolidor e Wolverine.
O Homem-Aranha é provavelmente o personagem “teen” mais valioso do mundo, uma bênção para os fãs (e uma maldição para seus protagonistas, que são trocados assim que começam a dar mostras de que estão se parecendo mais com seus pais). Encontrar uma nova trama que prossiga enfatizando essa “teen angst” foi mérito de Destin Daniel Cretton (diretor de Shang-Chi e a Lenda dos Dez Anéis), com roteiro assinado por Erik Sommers e Chris McKenna. Embalado por canções como Loser, da cult banda australiana Tame Impala (“Cara, é uma crise, eu nunca fico assim/É assim que é a minha vida; não daria nem para inventar uma história dessas”, diz a letra), o filme cria lindos videoclipes de comics, com montanhas de ninjas subindo uns nos outros para alcançar um herói suspenso no espaço, quase uma graphic novel dos anos 1990, como Elektra ou Cavaleiro das Trevas. Seria por causa disso que termina fazendo uma série de agradecimentos, nos créditos, a expoentes da indústria dos comics, como Frank Miller e Jack Kirby? Se foi, é um tributo bem prestado.
