Apenas uma semana após a morte, aos 98 anos, do produtor cearense Luiz Carlos Barreto, um dos mais importantes personagens da História do cinema brasileiro, a Agência Nacional de Cinema (Ancine) o notifica por uma prestação de contas de um filme de 13 anos atrás. Foi publicada nesta quarta-feira, 29, no Diário Oficial da União, uma notificação aos produtores Luiz Carlos Barreto e Patricia Villela Barreto e sua produtora Filmes do Equador, fundada em 1993, pela recusa da prestação de contas de Crô – O Filme, de 2013.

Conforme a notificação da Ancine, foi negado um recurso da produtora e a agência decidiu manter a reprovação de contas do filme por “omissão no dever de prestar contas”. Informa que a produtora de Barreto, uma das mais conhecidas do País, não foi possível de ser localizada por via postal em razão de se encontrar em “local incerto e não sabido”. O produtor morou a vida toda no mesmo endereço no Rio, no Parque Guinle, e é notória a localização de sua produtora em Botafogo. O formato da notificação é padrão, mas chama a atenção o uso de tal recurso em relação a um dos maiores e mais conhecidos produtores de cinema da História.

O filme Crô, com Marcelo Serrado (spin off com o personagem da novela Fina Estampa, da Rede Globo, teve roteiro de Aguinaldo Silva e foi um grande sucesso: estreou em 2013 e custou pouco mais de R$ 3 milhões de reais, arrecadando 5 vezes mais nas bilheterias do País. Foi produzido, exibido, cumpriu sua finalidade, demonstrou amplamente o êxito do investimento público e ainda ajudou a sedimentar um pouco mais a indústria cinematográfica do País, gerando empregos e know-how. O caso de Barretão é exemplar para demonstrar como funcionam as arapucas burocráticas da Ancine e a fórmula exaurida de fomento fundada em editais e compadrio político.

Não por acaso, a viúva de Barretão, Lucy Barreto, fez um discurso crítico acerca das condições de trabalho no cinema brasileiro no momento do funeral do produtor. Lucy, que esteve ao lado de Barretão em toda sua carreira desde o Cinema Novo, chamou a atual política pública audiovisual brasileira de “embuste”.
