Celebrando 10 anos de carreira e uma ascensão de tirar o fôlego, a DJ Vanessa Serra está em São Paulo para uma curta temporada. Jornalista com destacada atuação no segmento cultural e de produção (seja musical ou em bastidores de tevê), somente em 2016 a artista foi picada pela pulga da discotecagem: começou a brincar em uma festa de amigos, lembrou-se da vasta coleção de vinis, amealhada desde a infância — e sem cometer o desatino de muitos, inclusive este repórter, de se desfazer dela, com o advento do cd e, posteriormente do streaming —, comprou um mixer, aprendeu e se aprimorou no ofício e o resto é história.

Desde 2018 Vanessa Serra viaja a São Paulo para curtas temporadas em prestigiadas casas da maior cidade da américa latina, já tendo participado de eventos como a Semana Internacional da Música (Sim) e Virada Cultural (a convite do Festival BR-135). Durante a pandemia de covid-19 e o consequente isolamento social imposto pela crise sanitária, ela reinventou-se, passando a realizar lives, incluindo as do coletivo Coletivo UhManas TV (formada exclusivamente por DJs mulheres), e a Alvorada, que passou a apresentar de sua casa, através da plataforma TwitchTV, que veio a transformar-se no Alvorada — Paisagens e Memórias Sonoras, programa que produz, opera e apresenta todos os domingos, das 7h às 9h, na Rádio Timbira FM (95,5).

Em sua cidade natal já frequentou palcos de importantes projetos e festivais, como Elas, RicoChoro ComVida na Praça, Lençóis Jazz e Blues Festival, Zabumbada e Mostra Sesc Guajajara de Artes. Sua relação orgânica com o vinil também resultou no “Vinil & Poesia”, elepê que une duas de suas paixões, com a presença de poetas e músicos de sua admiração, escrete selecionado entre participantes de outro evento (homônimo) criado por ela (também transformado em live pela pandemia).

Como nunca quis ser freguesa distinta e acabou, como no poema de Paulo Leminski (1944-1989), entrando com os dois pés no peito dos porteiros, ocupando um ambiente infelizmente ainda extremamente machista, Vanessa Serra também vem se dedicando à formação de novas DJs, ministrando oficinas de discotecagem para mulheres. A discotecagem ressignificou sua trajetória profissional e hoje este ofício é desenvolvido em paralelo a seu trabalho na Secretaria de Estado de Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação no Maranhão. Como demonstrado, currículo não lhe falta.

Agenda — A DJ Vanessa Serra se apresenta hoje (8), das 17h às 23h, na Fatiado Discos (Av. Prof. Alfonso Bovero, 382, Sumaré), com o DJ Maurício Capella, o Capella Sytem, com A Parelha, com repertório dedicado a folguedos populares do Maranhão e à cultura do soundsystem.

Amanhã (9), das 18h30 às 21h30, é a vez da Casa de Francisca (Largo da Misericórdia).

Dia 10 de julho, novamente na formação A Parelha, é a vez da Patuá Discos (R. Fidalga, 516, Vila Madalena), das 18h às 22h.

Dia 11 é a vez da Primo Panuzzo (Rua General Jardim, 384, Vila Buarque), das 18h às 23h.

E encerrando a circulação paulista, domingo (12), Vanessa Serra se apresenta na Casa Sements (Av. Eliseu de Almeida, 1566), convidada das DJs Carol Selecta e Pensanuvem, das 17h às 23h. Os ingressos custam apenas R$ 10,00.

Todas as apresentações têm entrada franca, exceto onde indicado.
