Entre julho e setembro de 2013, o cantor, compositor e pintor cearense Antonio Carlos Belchior (1946-2017), àquela altura em uma espécie de autoexílio no Sul do País, foi acolhido e abrigado por militantes do Movimento dos Pequenos Agricultores (MPA) do município de Seberi (RS), a cerca de 400 km de Porto Alegre. Os camponeses, que o chamavam de Tio Antonio, o abrigaram, a ele e à então mulher, Edna Assunção de Araújo, em casas de famílias da sede da cooperativa camponesa Cooperbio, na Linha Tesoura.
Passados mais de 10 anos daquele período, os anfitriões de Belchior produziram o minidocumentário Belchior Entre os Camponeses, filme que exibirão nesta noite de segunda-feira, às 18 horas, na Casa de Cultura de Seberi (avenida General Flores da Cunha, ao lado do Fórum). O minidoc é uma produção de Marcos Antonio Corbari com apoio da Cooperbio, do projeto Alimergia e do Instituto Cultural Padre Josimo, e parcialmente financiado pelo edital local da Lei Paulo Gustavo. Também serão lançados livros realizados por artistas locais.
Daquelas pessoas que desfrutaram dos quase três meses de convivência com Belchior, poucas ainda vivem em Seberi. Marcos Joni de Oliveira, que presidia a coooperativa, e Marcelo Leal estão em Brasília. Marcos Fiametti está em Taquaruçu. Débora vive em Porto Alegre e Jimi e sua família em Hulha Negra. Mas o encontro naquele inverno de 2013 marcou profundamente as vidas deles. O filme, informa o produtor, teve a intenção de registrar as vozes das pessoas que conviveram com o artista mas não tinham tido oportunidade de se manifestar.
Um texto de Marcos Antonio Corbari lembra que Belchior e a mulher interagiam “com os modos de vida simples dos homens, mulheres e crianças que conviviam com o cotidiano do trabalho na terra, do cultivo de alimentos agroecológicos e das pautas de lutas da classe que já haviam permeado a obra” do artista cearense em diversos momentos de sua carreira. “Cantar como quem usa a mão/Para fazer um pão/Colher alguma espiga/Como quem diz no coração/Meu bem, não pense em paz que deixa a alma antiga”, já cantava o bardo em Voz da América, de 1978.
Mas os registros audiovisuais dessa aventura foram escassos. O casal deixou poucos rastros. “Uma única fotografia, captada em um raro momento em que Bel e Edna não estavam juntos (sempre pediam para não serem fotografados), quando os jovens militantes o levaram a conhecer as cachoeiras que existem no território”, num “misto de fuga e rapto”, é um souvenir precioso daquele momento. Belchior, contam, foi praticamente apartado de Edna para que conseguissem levá-lo até a cachoeira, na foto que publicamos.
Também ficou ali um trabalho artístico realizado em parceria por Belchior e Edna, uma colagem sobre papel na qual fizeram uso de sementes e materiais de pintura escolar disponíveis, com a intenção de criar identidade visual para o projeto Alimergia (Alimento – Meio Ambiente – Energia), que na época estava em pleno desenvolvimento pelo MPAe Cooperbio e que resultou na implantação de mais de 500 hectares de agloflorestas na região.
Belchior morreria quatro anos depois em Santa Cruz do Sul (a 340 km dali), aos 70 anos, após sofrer um aneurisma da aorta. A fotografia só foi colocada na Casa de Cultura de Seberi pelos amigos do campo após sua morte, em respeito ao desejo de privacidade do artista.
